Sawara

Fukuoka's relaxed seaside ward of beaches, shotengai and university life, delivering the city's best family value and yields

About Sawara

Sawara is where Fukuoka meets the sea. Spreading west along the coast, the ward gathers the artificial beach and waterfront promenade of Seaside Momochi, the green tip of Odo Park, and the easy outlet shopping of Marinoa City into an unhurried, family-friendly stretch of the city. Inland, life centers on the venerable Nishijin and Fujisaki shopping arcades and a belt of universities that keeps the ward young and its rental market busy. It is affordable in a way central Fukuoka no longer is, spacious family homes and compact student flats at prices a fraction of the Chuo core. For investors, Sawara is one of Fukuoka's standout value-and-yield stories: a growing-city population, durable student and family demand, and the Nishijin-Fujisaki corridor's track record of appreciation, tempered by the slower growth and older stock typical of a western coastal ward.
