Centar is the stage on which modern Skopje presents itself: Macedonia Square with its monuments, the Ottoman Stone Bridge crossing the Vardar to the Old Bazaar, and the boulevards lined with ministries, malls and cafes. The Debar Maalo quarter on its western edge adds the city's most beloved tavern-and-cafe culture. For investors it offers the capital's most central and liquid stock with steady demand. The caveats are the small national market and the variable quality of the Skopje 2014 building program, so disciplined selection of well-located, well-built units is key to holding value.
