About The Cays

The Utila Cays are a string of small islands off the southwest tip of Utila, including the densely settled fishing community of Jewel Cay and Pigeon Cay (linked by a causeway) plus privately held cays like Water Cay and Sandy Cay. They offer one of the Caribbean's rarest propositions: ownership of, or on, a private or semi-private cay, attracting trophy buyers and boutique-rental operators. Inventory is scarce and pricing varies enormously: a modest cay home may trade from US$150,000 to US$400,000, while entire small private cays command seven figures. Rental potential is strong for unique day-trip and overnight stays but logistically dependent on boat access. This is the island's most illiquid, specialized segment, rewarding buyers seeking a trophy asset or distinctive boutique-rental over conventional cash flow; corporate title is standard for these coastal holdings.
